One of the maids, feeling uneasy and annoyed with her, responded,

“Yes, sir… leave!”

“Okay, sir, I’m sorry!” she said quickly before turning toward the exit.

Maryama felt the movement behind her and immediately followed. She brushed past him as she headed toward the door. As she passed so close to his body, something like an electric current surged through every part of him. His already stern face froze as his eyes remained fixed on her.

At that moment, Salim hurried after her and stepped in front of her.

“Please, Maryama, stop for a moment,” he pleaded. “Calm down. Whatever you need in this company, we are ready to give it to you. But please give us a chance to discuss something important with you.”

Immediately, Maryama’s anger flared again. Her heart burned with fury. She said nothing, but her face hardened as she calmly moved to pass him.

Salim blocked her path again.

“My patience is beginning to run out because of what you’re doing,” she said coldly. “And my anger is rising. I’m a woman with a lot of patience—don’t push me into doing something I have never done to anyone in my life.”

“What exactly do you want to tell me?” she continued bitterly. “Or should I say what you people want after humiliating and disgracing me like this? I know that even this ATA who did all this probably doesn’t even know who I—”

“Enough! Please, I don’t want to hear anything,” she interrupted sharply. “Just move aside and let me pass. I don’t need your help.”

She tried to walk past him again, but he stepped in front of her once more.

At that moment, her anger completely overwhelmed her. Before she even realized it, her hand rose into the air—

Tas!

A loud slap landed across his cheek.

Shocked, Salim grabbed his face, staring at her in disbelief.

Maryama turned around in blazing fury and looked at ATA, who stood there motionless like a statue, overwhelmed by shock.

“Tell him to stay out of my life,” she said angrily. “Tell him to move out of my way so I can leave.”

The way she stared at him with burning anger… that was exactly how ATA stared back at her without blinking. A strange storm of emotion rushed through his entire body.

For the first time in his life, he felt something he had never felt before—

regret.

“Tell him to move aside so I can leave,” she repeated again, this time with a trace of pain in her voice.

ATA slowly released a hot breath from his mouth. In a cold tone, as if the situation meant nothing to him, he said,

“Salim… let her go.”

After saying that, he turned his back on them.

Salim immediately stepped aside without saying another word.

Maryama adjusted the strap of her bag and stormed out of the office, clicking her tongue in anger.

Her steps were heavy, as if she didn’t even want her feet to touch the ground. She wiped the tears streaming from the corners of her eyes and walked out of the company compound, her heart pounding violently.

She stood beside the workers’ gate waiting for a vehicle.

Just then, Amar’s car approached.

With a single glance, Amar could see that something was terribly wrong. Instantly, concern filled his heart. Before the car even fully entered the gate, he ordered his driver to stop.

The driver had barely parked when Amar stepped out and walked quickly toward her.

“Maryama!” he called.

She raised her head suddenly and looked at him.

“Why are you standing by the roadside crying? What happened?” he asked with deep concern.

“Wasn’t it that disrespectful owner of ATA Creation…?”

Tears suddenly flowed down her face again, preventing her from finishing her words.

“Come, get into the car,” Amar said gently. “Tell me what happened inside.”

She shook her head firmly.

“Never again, Oga Amar. My feet will never enter that company again.”

After saying that, she turned and began walking quickly along the roadside.

Amar hurried after her and stepped in front of her.

“Tell me who hurt you,” he asked, wanting to confirm what he suspected.

“The company owner himself… and another man I don’t even know. Together they humiliated and disgraced me.”

“The owner of ATA Creation himself?” Amar asked again, shocked.

She nodded silently.

He watched her as she brushed past him and continued walking away. He followed her with his eyes for a moment, then quickly turned around and headed back into the company compound.
